Diaper rash is a common skin disorder occurred among infants and the causes for diaper rash are usually moisture getting stuck between the skin and diaper.
Babies usually have dry skin and their skin is very sensitive. When particles of urine and other wet substances are in contact with the skin and diaper, it creates an atmosphere where bacteria can grow easily. 3. Atopic Dermatitis – The causes for this diaper rash vary from allergies to hereditary factors. This starts occurring as red folds and will spread all over the body soon.
4. Impetigo Dermatitis – Filled pimples and swollen blisters along with yellowish patches are the symptom for impetigo dermatitis. This is very irritating and treatment is necessary. Since this can affect genitals and rectum, babies will face severe irritation and pain.
Treatment for diaper rash is available and you can choose the ideal treatment method with the help of a physician. Since most of the diaper rash is a result of moisture and unhygienic conditions, taking care of your baby and maintaining hygiene are the most important things you should do. Make sure to change your baby’s diaper whenever it get wet and during summer season, change diapers more often to avoid the baby developing rash by accumulating sweat between diaper and skin.
Desitin and Eucerin are the most common ointments used for rash treatment. However, never initiate self treatment but always consult a physician before choosing the right treatment method. Ointments are the most common treatment method because this provides immediate relief from irritation and pain. Since detergents also have a role to play in diaper rash, make sure that the detergent that you use to wash your baby’s cloths do not cause any side effects on children’s skin.
